Final two pandemic-delayed BTO projects completed: HDB
According to HDB, the conclusion of Punggol Point Cove (Stage 2) marks the conclusion of all condos in the Punggol Point District. This includes Punggol Point Cove (Stage 1), Punggol Point Woods and Punggol Point Crown BTO projects, that were completed in 2024.
The standing projects had waiting times of up to five years. On the whole, over 18,000 apartments were finished in 2024, says HDB.
Currently, 110 HDB home projects are under development, up from 95 a year ago due to the increase in BTO supply in recent years. HDB says it is on track to accomplish around 17,000 condos all around 27 projects in 2025.
Situated in between Serangoon Road, Lavender Road and Boon Kheng Road, Kempas Residences BTO project has 583 units of two-room flexi, three-, four-room apartments across four residential blocks.
The 22 housing projects featured 2 Shorter Waiting Time (SWT) ventures, that were completed within a waiting period of much less than three years. The SWT plans, Parc Glen at Tengah and Grove Spring at Yishun, comprised an overall of 1,995 condos.
Flat owners of Punggol Point Cove (Phase 2) have been obtaining the keys to their new house since November 2024, whilst key collection for Kempas Residence started in mid-January this year.
As at Jan 15, 657 homes or 59% of 1,109 lined up units have gotten their keys.
Minister for National Development Desmond Lee has recently publicized the finalization of the final two pandemic-delayed work from HDB, according to a Jan 20 release.
The two Build-to-Order (BTO) projects, Punggol Point Cove (Stage 2) and Kempas Residences, note the conclusion of HDB’s pandemic-delayed property projects. Overall, the 92 plans have provided over 75,800 new condos to Singaporeans over the last 5 years.
Placed around New Punggol Roadway, Punggol Point Cove (Stage 2) makes up 1,179 units of two-room flexi, 3-, 4- and five-room condos all over 6 household blocks. Following pandemic delays, the project’s last block was completed 12 months from its initial Probable Completion Date (PCD) at an earlier time this month.
HDB is anticipated to inform the remaining flat owners of their key collection date shortly, following the completion of the last blocks among both ventures this month.
The final block, which was delayed by six months from its first PCD, was completed in mid-January.
In 2024, HDB finished a sum of 22 housing properties, 17 of which were put off by the pandemic. With the exemption of one that was delayed because of non-pandemic causes, the remaining four house plans were finished on time.
As at Jan 15, 37 houses or about 7% of 555 booked units have received their keys.
