Habyt launches new flexible living space in Tanjong Pagar
Kada at Maxwell will use a variety of spaces, including en suite studios and 2- to three-bedroom units. Each unit has a completely installed kitchenette. Guests can book rooms on a nightly or every week basis, with a 12-month option also offered.
The flexible home lies within a preserved 1920s colonial building. The three-storey structure, designed by the architectural firm Swan & Maclaren, was among the earliest modernist buildings in Singapore. It was built to house the St Andrew’s Mission Hospital for Women and Children.
Habyt has already introduced a new accomodation spot at 5 Kadayanallur Street in Tanjong Pagar. The 18-room Kada at Maxwell is the front runner place for the operator’s Habyt Flex approach, which presents a strategic expanding of the company’s product offerings beyond extensive co-living.
In August, Habyt Asia Pacific chief executive officer Jonathan Wong indicated that the firm was planning to add more short-term living alternatives to its local lineup. The first properties within the Habyt Flex concept are the 39-room Habyt Novena and the 27-room Habyt Kallang, both released in August. Other properties under the Habyt Flex concept include Habyt Cantonment and Owen Property by Habyt.
A public tender to lease the property, now handled by the Singapore Land Authority (SLA), was introduced in September 2023. The tender was evaluated based on the bid price and the top quality of the proposed concept, and SLA urged prospective buyers to consider creative way of life concepts.
The site was awarded to Bethesda Medical, that submitted a monthly rental quote of $103,000, the third-highest bid rate after Wan Dormitory ($160,000) and The Working Capitol ($108,240).
Residents of Kada at Maxwell will enjoy unlimited and complimentary access to the property’s health and well-being facilities, like the performance fitness center, cold plunge, infrared saunas, hot tubs and foot bathrooms.
SLA mentioned Bethesda’s solid concentrate on area building and connecting people with businesses as what gave its concept the succeeding edge. The first floor will feature 10 F&B offerings, whilst the second floor will certainly house a gym by Limitless, a wellness facility in partnership with Shiruki Studio, and a co-working room. Habyt’s Kada at Maxwell is on the 3rd floor.
“By blending contemporary comforts with the timeless beauty of a heritage building, we’re offering guests an unique lifestyle journey that exceeds traditional holiday accommodation,” adds Wong.
Wong says Habyt Kada at Maxwell presents the company’s dedication to redefining versatile living in Singapore and marks its change towards the next phase of growth for Habyt Asia Pacific. Room rates at Kada at Maxwell will start at $180 per night.
